BIW CATIA Design Engineer

Job Description

 Tetra Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is looking for experienced BIW CATIA Design Engineers with strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5. The candidate should have practical exposure to automotive Body-in-White (BIW) design, sheet metal components, assemblies, and OEM design standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify BIW components and assemblies using CATIA V5.
  
• Perform 3D modelling, assembly detailing, and design modifications.
  
• Work on automotive BIW structures, closures, and related components.
  
• Prepare 2D drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
  
• Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, tooling, and engineering teams.
  
• Ensure designs comply with OEM standards, design guidelines, and packaging requirements.
  
• Participate in design reviews and resolve engineering issues.
  
• Work on GSM components and systems wherever applicable.

• Door Assemblies and Closure Mechanisms
  
• Glass Run Channels and Weather Seals
  
• Window Regulator Mechanisms
  
• GSM Design Feasibility and Packaging
  

• Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5.
  
• Generative Shape Design (GSD).
  
• Part Design and Assembly Design.
  
• 2D Drafting and Detailing.
  
• BIW Design and Automotive Product Development.
  
• GD&T, DMU/DFM, and design engineering practices.
  
• Knowledge of OEM specifications and design standards.
  

• Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience.
  
• BIW closures and automotive body systems.
  
• Global automotive customer exposure.
  
• Experience with GSM engineering components.
  
• Team coordination and project management exposure.
