Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms using professional CAD software.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D engineering drawings and assembly documentation.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and select suitable materials and mechanical components.
- Develop prototypes using 3D printing and other manufacturing processes.
- Assemble, test and troubleshoot mechanical systems and implement design improvements.
- Work with motors, actuators, gearboxes, bearings and motion transmission components.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Coordinate with electronics and controls teams for mechanical and electromechanical integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent CAD software.
- Good understanding of mechanical design, engineering fundamentals, materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, including bearings, shafts, gears, actuators, gearboxes and motion transmission systems.
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing, including printer setup, bed levelling, calibration, slicer settings, material selection and troubleshooting.
- Ability to design functional prototypes, perform mechanical assembly and validate designs through testing and iterative improvements.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication and additive manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take mechanical designs from concept to working prototypes.
- Experience in robotics, industrial automation, or mechanical product development.
- Familiarity with electromechanical systems and actuator integration.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and hands-on hardware development.
