Job Description: Design Engineer – Automotive Plastic (CATIA/NX)

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer – Automotive Plastic to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing automotive plastic components using CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX. The candidate will be responsible for developing innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable plastic part designs while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Coordinate with tooling, CAE, manufacturing, quality, and project teams throughout the product development cycle.
• Support design reviews, DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and engineering change management activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards, GD&T, and automotive quality requirements.
• Work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams for prototype development, tooling support, and production launch.
• Resolve design-related issues during prototype and production stages while meeting project timelines.
• Maintain engineering data, BOMs, and documentation in PLM/PDM systems.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Skills

• Experience in complete product development from concept to production.
• Exposure to global automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
• Knowledge of engineering change management and release processes.
• Understanding of CAE basics and tolerance analysis is an added advantage.
