Trims Design Engineer

Job Description

Key Skills (Interior trims):

• Design exposure of Automotive Interior Trims/Seating system components.
• Experience in (Interior Trims - Instrument Panels, Cross car beams, Door trims, Consoles, Pillar trims, and Headliners)
• 3D modeling in surfacing as well as solid. Generating 2D drawings,3D annotation, etc.
• Manage BOM and engineering releases through PLM.
• Creating Engineering Concept design, master sections, and macro feasibility during the styling stage.
• Work out detail engineering and TPL creation and Release in PLM.
• Basic Understanding of DFMEA, DVP.
• Basic Knowledge of engineering plastic materials and processes, dimensional management, and GD&T.
• Good analytical, Communication, logical, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of tooling of plastics and manufacturing processes and molding processes.
• Strong Program management skills with a goal/target-minded discipline
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Should be able to lead the team and check the quality of output and deliver the output.
• Communication with onsite/ client.
• Execute the project within the timelines prescribed by the customer.
• Good knowledge of CAD Methodologies and Best practices.

• Develop concepts for innovative products with regard to feasibility, cost, lifespan customer, and legal requirements.
• Responsible for delivering robust, proven, and reliable mechanical solutions in the required time, quality, and cost.
• Mechanical BOM release & updates.
• Creation of DFMEA, CAE plan, DV plan, component test, and certification in compliance.
• Technical Design Review (TDR) of a given project. On request participate in TDR organized by other teams to provide feedback.
• Responsible for the mechanical feasibility of the projects proven by checklist status.
• Participates in customer & quality audits for given products/projects if required.
• Support creation, maintenance, and updates of design guidelines and rules.
• Strong Program management skills with a goal/target-minded discipline
