Production Manager

Job Description

• Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop production plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resources and minimizing downtime.
• Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that pipes meet industry standards and customer specifications. This may involve conducting inspections and audits.
• Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
• Inventory Management: Manage raw material and finished product inventories, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory costs.
• Cost Management: Monitor production costs and find ways to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
• Machine Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all employees adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Team Supervision: Lead and manage production teams, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
• Budgeting: Prepare and manage budgets for the production department, including expenses for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Production Reporting: Generate regular production reports for senior management, detailing key performance metrics such as production output, quality, and efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies to drive continuous process improvement.
• Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives related to pipe manufacturing.
• Customer Relations: Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and meet customer demands.
• Supplier Management: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and maintain good supplier relationships.
• Project Management: Manage special projects related to production, such as introducing new product lines, expanding production capacity, or implementing new technologies.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality control measures, and inventory levels.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to pipe manufacturing.
• Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts and issues within the production team and with other departments to maintain a harmonious work environment.
• Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to deal with unexpected events that may disrupt production.
• Communication: Effectively communicate production goals, targets, and performance metrics to the production team and other relevant stakeholders.
