Job Summary

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer to join our manufacturing team at Changodar, Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate should have a technical understanding of mechanical components/materials along with good communication, vendor coordination and negotiation skills.

Freshers and candidates with 0–2 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement in a manufacturing or engineering company are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, develop and coordinate with new and existing vendors.

Source raw materials, mechanical components, consumables, tools and other engineering items.

Send RFQs (Request for Quotations) to vendors and collect quotations.

Prepare quotation comparison statements based on price, quality, specifications and delivery.

Negotiate with suppliers regarding price, payment terms and delivery schedules.

Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).

Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Planning and Accounts departments.

Ensure availability of materials as per production requirements.

Maintain purchase records, vendor database, quotations and PO documentation.

Assist in vendor evaluation and development of alternate suppliers.

Support cost reduction and improve procurement efficiency.

Resolve material shortages, delivery delays and supplier-related issues.

Maintain MIS reports and purchase-related data using MS Excel/ERP.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of mechanical components, raw materials and manufacturing processes.

Good communication and vendor coordination skills.

Basic negotiation and analytical skills.

Knowledge of Purchase/Procurement procedures.

Good working knowledge of MS Excel.

Knowledge of ERP/SAP/Tally will be an added advantage.

Ability to work with multiple departments and meet deadlines.

Willingness to learn and build a career in Purchase & Procurement.

Eligibility

BE/B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering

MBA – Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement candidates can also apply.

0–2 years of experience in manufacturing/purchase/procurement.

Freshers with good communication and technical knowledge are welcome.

Immediate joiners preferred.

Candidates who can conveniently commute to Changodar will be preferred.
