Role & Responsibilities

Supervise heavy fabrication and manufacturing activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production as per customer requirements. Coordinate with production teams, resolve fabrication issues through root cause analysis, prepare fabrication drawings, plan materials and resources, monitor painting, blasting, and inspections, support TPM activities, manage manpower, shift planning, and work allocation, and assist in improving productivity and process efficiency.

Experience & Qualification

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in Heavy Fabrication or Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.
Knowledge of fabrication processes, production planning, quality control, root cause analysis, TPM, manpower management, and manufacturing operations.

Purpose of the Role:

Plan and manage the execution of project releases based on input from the system integration people, the capabilities and capacity team, and the operations team. Working very closely with entire marketing, R&D, and operations groups to deliver a complete and comprehensive marketing strategy. Serve as a focal point for all aspects of project lifecycle management from the planning phase to the project closure phase. Be accountable for project planning, execution, scheduling, functionality, quality, and cost. Manage projects during the execution phase. Perform ongoing risk management activities and ensure that appropriate risk mitigation is implemented. Be responsible for the overall management of change resulting from the implementation of the projects. Long-range strategic planning will affect the Companys's success. Manage & guide the team with motivation to excel in performance. Drive creative thinking, ensure customer needs are considered, and collaborate with the operations team to ensure products are designed as per customer requirements. Leverage project governance and escalation process as needed to meet project KPIs. Regularly review and communicate project progress

Key Responsibilities:
 

General and Task Management

• Market research analysis & create inputs for new vehicle projects for European & US markets
• Creation of project plans and identification of resource requirements
• Analyze market opportunities for EV
• Independently facilitating the introduction of new products through the NPI process that contribute significant Enterprise financial benefits on time and to budget with a robust Vehicle Development Plan
• Profiling & Managing Product Engineering Projects, ensuring all requirements of internal and external customers are met whilst maintaining committed timescales and budgets
• Analyze and report on product deployment performance
• Providing the senior leadership with weekly/monthly progress reports on all projects
• Work with Finance and others to build business cases to drive good returns on investments
• Collaborate with the R&D team to ensure NPI checkpoints meet financial goals and align to Strategic Plan
• Working with all other groups, managing operational escalations related to project launches
• Material preparation for prototypes & PP batch for line trials.

• Provide a high level of leadership in the industrialization and development process in order to achieve cost-effectiveness and ensure the supply of high-quality products on time to market

• Support and manage the preparation, organization, and communication of tradeshows, fairs and events
• Administration of performance management process. Engaging & retaining talent by continual dialogue.
• Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features)
• Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of company objectives
• Support Marketing for Corporate brand building
• Analysis and optimization of new business models
• Work with cross-functional teams on new product development (pricing, cost impact, investment analysis)
• Perform portfolio reviews to assess impact of new product on existing products
• Report financial findings and recommendations at product/platform lifecycle checkpoint reviews and other forums as needed

People Management

• Ensuring the right job allocation to the members to leverage their competencies and experience.
• Mentor key engineers and identify requirements for skills development
• Supervise and work with engineers supporting, developing and nurturing talent
• Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity
• Motivate and coach the team to operational success
• Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware
• Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
• Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan
• Develop quarterly and annual hiring plans

Financial Budget and Control

• Support to Finance Head & Marketing in controlling the budget

Relationship Management

• Support the sales and business development teams by adding technical assistance
• Manage the interface between the customer and engineering and also the internal interfaces between sales, engineering and supply chain/production
• Communicate with Platform Head on programme status, risks and issues in an appropriate and timely manner. Raise flag when target not met & conflict not resolved
• Support other department on the project.
• Work on ideas and improve operation, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery.

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• Graduate in engineering with 15-20 years of experience in the automobile industry. Experience in the EV industry is an added advantage.
• Candidates from Passenger Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle up to 3.5 Ton capacity are preferred.
• Knowledge of EV Components / EV Batteries / E Mobility would be preferred for this role.
• Highly desirable in automotive product planning experience with a proven success record in development and execution

We are looking for Production Engineer, Diploma Mechanical Candidates with 3 to 5 years experience in Heavy Fabrication Industries.

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Manufacturing/Fabrication Processes.
• Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner as per customer requirements.
• Analyze all root causes for all fabrication issues and resolve the same and implement all new process tools according to the required order.
• Coordinate with technicians and provide support to all teams and maintain the quality of all work processes in systems.
• Design various ideas for all ladders and gantries and prepare detailed drawings for all fabrication processes.
• Plan all materials for new products and ensure optimal utilization of all resources and administer product orders and ensure compliance with all timeframes for all fabricated products.
• Maintain quality for all fabrication from conceptualization to implementation and perform the inspection for all painting and blasting.
• Provide support to all total productive maintenance programs and design all fabrication processes and appropriate schedules.
• Assist the Production Manager and prepare reports on a regular basis after final inspections.
• Manpower Handling, Shift Planning. Work allocation of teams.

Working in the Design and Production Department

• Design and development of existing and new products.
• Creating and working on 2D and 3D drawings of mechanical and sheet metal
• assemblies.
• Should have a working knowledge of various technical instruments like Vernier
• lliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, etc.
• Preparing BOMs and BOQs.
• QA and QC as per drawings.
• Ensuring production as per drawings.
• Performance Testing of equipment pre-dispatch.

The key personal skills for this role are:

• Good knowledge on the design of plastic, and sheet metal components along with the manufacturing process
• The requirement is in the Powertrain installation group in Chassis Engineering.
• Preferred area of work is Engine peripherals like Air intake, Noise shields, recirculation shields, Engine cooling
• system, oil fill, and check areas.
• Extensive hands-on experience Surfacing in Catia software is mandatory
• Exposure to vehicle packaging and DMU mockup
