We are looking for Fresher Mechanical Engineers to join our Projects / Engineering Department. The candidate will support project execution from design to assembly and commissioning while working on SPM, Automation, Jigs & Fixtures projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support project execution from design to assembly and commissioning.
• Assist in SPM, Automation, Jigs & Fixtures projects.
• Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production and Assembly teams.
• Read and understand 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs and assembly drawings.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting and customer installation.
• Track project activities, timelines and technical requirements.
• Assist senior engineers in project planning and execution.

• Understanding of activity-based costing principles in manufacturing, and automotive manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, stamping, injection molding, welding, metal forming, etc.   
• Continue to develop new cost models for a new product.   
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment including purchasing, engineering, finance, and manufacturing.   
• Ability to explain gaps between should cost and supplier pricing based on factual data.   
• High level of independent judgment, initiative, creativity, and managing multiple projects.   
• Design to cost initiative with engineering to innovate new lower-cost designs both internally and at our supply base.   
• Continue developing Apriori for cost models for commodities like stamping and plastic.   
• Prepare a manufacturing process plan & optimize the process.   
• Drive improvement in cost structure by questioning the status quo by better understanding the manufacturing process, cycle time, true productivity gains, alternate materials, and designs.   
• Implemented piece cost supplier workshop and supplier audit to reduce the overall cost.   
• Zero Base Costing

The role:

To adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures to execute the project and guide the internal team during project execution, with the objective of delivering the assigned work as per the defined quality and timelines within the limits of GECIAs processes, structure and guidelines.

Project Execution:

"Study the project brief and collect data from similar projects executed by GECIA; Follow the Atlas Copco/ customer specified standards to carry out virtual designing of the machine; Modify drawings based on feedback received from Team leader and Client; Visit shop floor and resolve technical queries during prototype production; Monitor daily hours spent and escalate overruns to the Project Leader in order to deliver the project as per the timelines and quality standards"

Status Reporting and Query Resolution:

"Provide data to the Project Leader to resolve customers technical queries on assigned work area; Interact with customers for L1 - L3 projects and resolve their queries; Create weekly status reports to be shared internally and externally in order to update stakeholders on project progress."

Quality Checks:

"Conduct quality checks of self and teams output to achieve adherence to defined quality standards to deliver error free outputs ""FIRST TIME RIGHT""

Project closure:

Follow project closure procedure by creating respective document mentioned in project closure list.

-Prepare ISO Documentation

Additional work:

To work on additional work assigned by senior team member as and when required.

As a Design / Sr. Design Engineer, you need to plan project execution with the objective of delivering projects within the estimated time and quality standards within the limits of GECIAs structure, processes, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Focus

• Understand the project requirements and work content based on the inputs received.
• Ensure GECIA s contribution to improve Time to Market.

To succeed, you will need

Experience Knowledge Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Production) with a minimum of 3-8 years of Experience
• Sound Knowledge about Compressors, blowers, dryers, filters, heat exchangers
• Knowledge of International standards like ASME and CE, API
• Knowledge about Design of Skid packages for compressor would be an added advantage.
• Will be able to work on most complex OEM projects.
• Experience in project planning, estimating on time delivery.
• Knowledge of Sheet metal, Piping design, Flange selection, heavy fabrication.
• Experience in Motor support design, Alignment/Fitment checks
• Experience in 3D layout creation, detailed Engineering drawing creation
• Experience of doing design calculations at component level.
• Should have basic understanding of P ID, Valves, Pressure Temperature Gauges
• Experience of working on CAD software like Inventor PLM system Enovia.
• Experience on ERP (BPCS) system, Item creation BOM preparation.
