Job Description:

• Conceptual BIW fixture design
• Spot welding fixtures design, the study of spot plan, Geo / Re-spot, Gun cloud
• Gripper's design such as process gripper, handling grippers (EGT / Fabricated)
• MIG welding fixtures design manual / robotic, Swing units, dump units, slide units design
• Checking fixtures & inspection fixtures concept design (control plan, inspection plan)
• 3D modeling & 2D detailing in CATIA V5 as well as UGNX (DAIMLER package is added
• advantage)
• Good BIW process knowledge such as cycle time, tact time, manual weld line, robotic weld time, gun feasibility, gun selection
• Manufacturing processes are proven experience in spot welding, riveting, clinching, nailing, MIG welding, and brazing.
• Manipulators design for the metal finish line, hemming fixtures design, piano clamping, gantry design

Proficient in 3D Part Design, Surfacing, Assembly Design, and 2D drafting in Catia / NX(Surfacing is a must). Ability to position and manipulate models, as well as cut sections, dimension, and conceptualize designs. Understanding of Styling surface and dividing as per component level. Knowledge of Fasteners, Dowels, and locating elements. Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Drawings & GD&T. Understanding of plastic part manufacturing. Good analytical and communication skills. Good knowledge of plastic part design & tooling feasibility with tool direction definition, parting line & Slider/Lifter construction. Target setting for parts strength, Gap-flush, GD&T.

Sound knowledge of Catia v5 surfacing with best cad methodology. Experience in BIW Design & Development at Automobile ( Closure/ Upper Body/ Lower Body ) Sound knowledge of engineering and system documents like DFMEA, DVP, DFM, etc. Good technical knowledge of automotive Sheet metal parts, manufacturing, and assembly - processes. Should be able to do tolerance stack up & GD&T added advantage. Basic understanding of Design/ Design changes on Tailgate & Hood parts (Inner /Outer panel, Reinforcement, Hinges, etc.) for the Automotive Sector.

Role & Responsibilities Design and develop automotive plastic components using CATIA V5 or NX. Create 3D models, surfacing, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings, perform GD&T, ensure tooling feasibility, define parting lines and tool directions, and support product development while meeting quality and performance requirements. Experience & Qualification Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. 4–8 years of experience in Automotive Plastic Product Design. 3-5 Years of good design experience in Automotive Seating - Foam Design. Hands-on experience in surfacing/solid modeling/Drawing creation in Catia V5 /NX software. Good Presentation and communication skills. Foam Design guidelines and process For seating foam.
