Mechanical Purchase Engineer – Automotive

Job Description

We are hiring a Mechanical Purchase Engineer to manage the procurement of automotive components, mechanical parts and raw materials. The ideal candidate should have experience in automotive or manufacturing procurement, vendor management, price negotiation and purchase order processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of automotive components, mechanical parts, and raw materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Compare supplier quotations and select cost-effective sourcing options.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure timely material delivery.
• Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and engineering teams.
• Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering drawings to understand material requirements.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, purchase documentation, and procurement reports.
• Monitor supplier performance, material availability, and delivery timelines.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and procurement optimization.
